Rapha Race Radio: Rapha launches online video series
Since its inception, high-end British cycling brand Rapha has been all about building a community, and this year will see this vision take a new form with the launch of Rapha Race Radio.
Described as “roadside dispatches from the best bike races in the world”, the project is an online video series that will be available on Youtube starting next week.
The series will follow a team of three young hosts report from some of the most important bike races in the world, including the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix to celebrate moments of heroism and sportsmanship, as well as criticise the ills and excess.
The brand said the presenters will “drink with the Belgians at Flanders, take a shower in Roubaix, paint mountain roads in the Alps, and see whatever other mischief we can get up to (preferably without being arrested).”
Former Spring Classics legend Juan Antonio Flecha will join one of the episodes to give behind the scenes comments on the races.
The show will start with the Tour of Flanders, which takes place on Sunday 1 April. There are 20 episodes planned for the season.
The project further expands Rapha’s lifestyle appeal, joining the cafés featured in the brand’s stores, and its cycle club, which costs £135 for a 12 month membership. The London-based business was acquired by RZC Investments last year.
