Woolmark Prize British Isles judges include Roland Mouret, Anita Barr

Published
Jul 3, 2015

The list of judges for the British Isles section of the Woolmark Prize reads like a who's who of British fashion.

The British Isles was only added as a separate, sixth region this year, but the judges for it are all fashion industry heavy-hitters.

The judges of the nominees on the Regional Final on July 3 in London are: Roland Mouret, Designer; Jason Basmajian, Creative Director of Gieves & Hawkes; Dylan Jones, Editor of GQ magazine; Sophia Neophitou, Editor-in-Chief and Publisher of 10 Magazine; Anita Barr, Group Fashion Buying Director at Harvey Nichols; Simon Chilvers, Men’s Style Director at Matchesfashion.com, and Stuart McCullough, Managing Director of The Woolmark Company.

Colin McDowell, the legendary fashion commentator, will be the mentor for the 10 nominees. From each of the six regions, one menswear and one womenswear designer is chosen, and they receive an AU$50,000 financial contribution towards their next collection as well as an invitation to participate in the international finals, held in New York in February.

“The prize continues to highlight the most innovative and modern interpretations of Australian wool at the hands of some of our future’s brightest talents,” explains The Woolmark Company Managing Director Stuart McCullough.

“Our esteemed judging panels will once again provide expert advice to guide these young designers at the early stages of their careers. The continued support of some of the most important significant representatives globally cements the importance of the International Woolmark Prize on the world stage.”
