Designer: Caroline HuInspiration: Originally from China, Caroline Hu studied at Central Saint Martin’s School in London before moving to New York to join her husband. To present her first collection, inspired in particularly by the painter Hieronymus Boschhe, she chose to stage her models in a private house rented for the occasion. Between historical vestiges hanging on walls, libraries and sofas, the models play romantic heroines.Collection: All dresses are hand-made with a tulle or lace base. The designer follows her instinct adding different textures and fabrics allowing her to finish with up to 30 different layers all made by hand using certain paints to add a touch of colour.Note: A talent to follow in New York, her dresses are filled with wonder and are worn with ease, even with Converse like we saw during the presentation.Interview with Caroline Hu:I’m just exciting, and then it’s my first collection yeah, and then I just want to show something different in New York, yeah and different for me to show my own feeling and my world and my view. All my work is handmade as you see. But I really like the handmade things it’s very delicate and very beautiful things. I love the fabrics made by my hand. Yeah so I think maybe that’s just my brand’s DNA and romanticism. I really want to make a daily couture, it’s really nice fabrics but also wearable.
